Join us to discover the personal journey Carolyn Rapkievian has undergone this past June visiting the ancestral villages and towns of her grandparents who survived the 1915 Armenian genocide. With the help of Turkish colleagues, she was able to visit Husenig, Kharpert, Gesaria, Germir, Talas, Roomdigin, Sepastia, Tokat, and Smyrna. Carolyn will share family stories, the research process which she used to discover her lineage, and will explore how cultural identity continues to be rooted in place even after many years of separation.
